Job Specification

The Role:
We have an opening for a Project Design Engineer/Mechanical Project Design Engineer working in our busy industrial drawing office. You will be responsible for processing Engineer to Order Projects and developing bespoke solutions based on customer requirements using the latest in design software. Producing engineering drawings, plus quotation/approval and installation drawings, as well as BOM’s and associated manufacturing information.

•Consult with the sales team, customers & manufacturing for accurate interpretation of requirements

• Design/Develop solutions to satisfy customer requirements.
• Prepare drawings for customer or sales approval.
• Prepare drawings for onsite installation.
• Prepare fabrication documents for use in manufacture.
• Administration of projects through use of Salesforce
• Use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks/3D software.

The Candidate:
The right candidate will be diligent, self-motivated and display an enthusiasm for engineering – ideally with the aptitude to thrive and progress within a engineering environment. The ability to communicate both verbally and through use of drawings will be vital to succeed in this role.
A capable and experienced engineer or draftsperson, you are an initiative-taking individual looking for an exciting opportunity, this may be the perfect opening for you, with the potential to train, develop and grow. The ideal candidate should possess some or all the following:

• Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable 3D software
• An interest in engineering, manufacturing, or fabrication
• An ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• An education in an engineering discipline
• The ability to communicate well with both internal and external parties, written, verbal and visual.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge of CRM, PLM and ERP
• Building BOM’s
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a logical approach to problem resolution
• Prior Experience and/or Minimum 5 GCSEs Grades C and above (or equivalents)

Hours: Working 39 hours, Monday to Friday IAE offers a choice of working schedules on a 2-week rotational basis, including the option a of Lunch Time Finish every other Friday. Earliest available start 7.30am and latest available finish is 5pm.
