Assembly Apprentice
We are looking to appoint Assembly Apprentices within the Assembly department based at our Head Quarters in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are keen to learn about all the aspects of Assembly. You will be placed on a rotational training programme, working alongside our experienced assembly teams learning various hand skills such as drilling, tapping, riveting and the assembly of products.
The successful candidate will embark onto a Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship and will receive training in the following:
- Operation of various handheld tools and machinery
- Operation of overhead crane equipment
- Safe handling of products
- Assembly of mechanical products
- Following engineering drawings and standard operating procedures
- Quality and quantity checking
Applicants must be able to demonstrate willingness to work towards the apprenticeship and show the right aptitude and commitment.
Typical duration of the apprenticeship is 18 Months, which includes a week long residential development programme in the Peak District. During the programme you will take part in a number of indoor and outdoor activities to help you develop both personally and professionally.
The above position will be rewarded with a permanent contract, progressive rates of pay, 32 days paid holidays per year plus loyalty days (up to 34 days), auto-enrolment into our pension scheme which includes 5% employer contributions and employee life insurance. Other benefits include company sick pay, an optional company saving scheme, and a cycle-to-work scheme. All employees are encouraged to develop within their role, therefore additional training will be given where necessary.
The successful candidate will work 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 08:00 – 15:30 Friday which includes a weekly attendance allowance. Once the apprenticeship is complete you will move over to a rotational shift pattern (days/noon’s) which includes an additional shift allowance.
