Over the last couple of weeks, our new development site has continued to progress at a rapid rate with the external infrastructure of the new production facility almost being complete.
Following extensive remediation works that have taken over two years to complete by our onsite contractors (Blueearth Construction Ltd), during the spring of this year we were ready to begin the build phase. Before we could welcome steel erectors onto the site to start the actual building, almost one thousand 20 metre piles had to be driven into the ground, in order to provide stability for the building once built.
This task took just under four weeks to complete and once finished the steel frame of the production facility was delivered to the site. In the short space of three weeks, contractors from Severfield erected the building, which is currently being clad with metal sheeting. The cladding on the back of the building will feature a gradient colour, which will help the building blend into the skyline.
In the meantime, construction of the in-house learning and demonstration centre has begun, which will house offices, training rooms, amenities and a vast show room.
