IAE is proud to share that Level 3 Advanced Engineering Apprentice Chloe has recently been awarded the North Staffordshire Engineering Group (NSEG) Apprentice of the Year award.
Chloe first joined IAE as a school leaver during September 2017 and for the first two years of her apprenticeship, she completed one day a week at Newcastle-under-Lyme College and during the rest of the time she has worked full time at IAE. The combination of college based learning and on-the-job training has enabled her to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills that are all applicable to the modern engineering environment.
The Apprentice of the Year award is issued each year by the NSEG to current Level 3 Advanced Engineering Apprentice or to an Apprentice who has completed their Level 3 Apprenticeship since December 2020. The nominations for the award are competitive as there are over 180 starters on the course and the final decision is made by the CEO of the NSEG.
Unlike most apprentices at IAE who remain in a specific job role during their apprenticeship, Chloe’s apprenticeship has enabled her to create a completely unique experience that has given her the opportunity to spend time within all the different functions and departments of IAE. Over the last four years she has split her time between office-based roles, which have ranged from working in the Research and Development department to the Sales department, and manufacturing based roles, such as working in the assembly plant and stores facility.
Daniel Rowley, Chloe’s Training officer at the NSEG said the following in relation to Chloe’s recent achievements:
‘For me, Chloe has always been an excellent Apprentice. She has stood by her programme that was individually tailored to her at IAE and has always continued to achieve. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, she maintained consistent contact with myself and continued to attend the training centre to ensure she did not fall behind. It should also be noted that the external verifier from awarding body commented on the high standard of work and the attention to detail shown throughout her NVQ Level 3 folder’.
In recent years IAE has realised that the finest talent comes from within. Our comprehensive Apprenticeship scheme, ran in conjunction with the NSEG, allows us to attract and nurture our next generation of success. Working alongside the NSEG, the programme has been designed to equip our apprentices with all of the education and skills they require to complete their role whilst also giving them the confidence to excel both in and out of the workplace.
On behalf of everyone at IAE, we want to congratulate Chloe on all of her outstanding achievements that she has made during her time at IAE, and we hope that she will continue to grow and develop her skills set for a very long time to come at IAE.
