Gill Peart, who is known as Mrs P to many here at IAE, began her retirement last week after an astonishing 27 years’ service to the business.

Gill began at IAE on the 29th of September 1997 at the Macclesfield Road site in Leek. Her first role within the company was paper work filing, which she undertook for several months in the Accounts department before moving into a Payroll Administration role.

From here on in, Gill would become responsible for ensuring each employees wages were paid correctly and on time. By the end of the 1990’s, IAE was employing 200 people, which has continued to grow to 450 people in the present day. As we are sure anyone can imagine, overseeing the wages of 450 individuals is quite a task!

In 2009, Gill moved from the site at Macclesfield Road to be based in Longton, at Mossfield road, as part of IAE’s continued efforts to invest into the company and create a sustainable future where IAE and all of its divisions can continue to grow and develop. The 38 acre site at Mossfield Road continues to remain as the company’s Head Quarters.

In the last 27 years, Gill has seen notable changes to the business. From the point of view of her role at IAE, the advancements in technology have been impressive to say the least. In the early days, Gill would pay the wages manually, taking 3 days each week to process. Nowadays, the process is much slicker, using an automated system and taking half as much time to complete.

Outside of her role, nothing has impressed Gill more than the changes in scale of the business. The company has over doubled in size since she joined.

As the company has grown Gill has continued to meet new people, of which many have become good friends. As Gill begins her retirement, she will miss everyone she has worked with over the last 27 years.

Her retirement will be spent with her family and granddaughter, whilst undertaking some renovation projects around her home. On behalf of everyone at IAE, we wish Gill a long, happy and healthy retirement and thank her for all of her hard work over the last 27 years.
