The Farming Equipment & Technology Fund Announced Today!

7th May, 2025 | posted by IAE Media

Livestock farmers in England could be eligible for up to 50% grant funding towards fixed and mobile handling systems as part of the latest round of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) announced today (7 May).

The £46.7 million fund supports three types of grants—each worth up to £25,000—to help farmers invest in equipment that boosts productivity, improves slurry management, or enhances animal health and welfare.

For sheep farmers, both mobile and fixed handling systems meeting specific criteria are eligible for funding. For cattle, eligible items include handling systems, squeeze crushes, and badger-proof feed troughs.

When do applications open?

The application window opens on 29 May and closes on 10 July, and farmers are encouraged to contact suppliers as early as possible to secure eligible products and streamline the application process.

As a leading livestock equipment manufacturer IAE has a wide range of products listed under the FETF scheme, including handling systems, crushes and a selection of Prattley and Tru-Test equipment. We are encouraging farmers to speak to the IAE team early on for advice and support with the application process.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for livestock farmers to upgrade vital infrastructure with the support of government funding,” said Robert Johnson at IAE. “We’re ready to help farmers identify eligible products and assist with the grant application from start to finish.

“We know how much of a difference the right handling equipment can make—not just to animal welfare, but to staff safety and overall farm efficiency. With funding now available, it’s the ideal time for farmers to invest in proven solutions”.

Where can you see IAE products?

IAE is attending a series of summer shows, including this week’s Balmoral Show, where farmers can see a range of equipment in person and find out more about what’s eligible for grant funding.
The grants are part of the government’s wider strategy to reduce costs, increase sustainability, and strengthen resilience in British agriculture.

Daniel Zeichner, Minister for Food Security and Rural Affairs, said: “Equipment and technology help drive farming forward and we will work with investors to fund more resilient, sustainable farms—boosting profitability, productivity and food security.

“This is the Plan for Change in action, and these grants will help provide our farmers with the tools they need to adapt, compete, and grow—whatever challenges lie ahead.”
Talk to the IAE team today for help and advice regarding grant eligible products, the application window will close at midday on the 10th July 2025.
