Countryside Productivity Scheme

The Countryside Productivity Scheme provides funding for projects in England which improve productivity in the farming and forestry sectors and help create jobs and growth in the rural economy.

It is administered by the Rural Payments Agency (RPA).

Only small grants are currently available under this scheme.

The grants are funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

Countryside Productivity Small Grant scheme

The Countryside Productivity Small Grant (CPSG) scheme provides funding for farmers to purchase equipment to improve the productivity of their farm. The scheme is different to other parts of the Countryside Productivity scheme as it uses an online application process and provides grants for specific pieces of agricultural equipment.

Round 3

The Countryside Productivity Small Grant scheme Round 3 is open from 7 October 2020 until noon on 4 November 2020.

Farmers can apply for funding towards specific items of equipment listed at Annex 3 of the Countryside Productivity Small Grant scheme Round 3 handbook.

. All the items will help to make improvements in either:

  • technical efficiency
  • animal health and welfare
  • resource efficiency, or
  • nutrient management

Who can apply

Farmers (including livestock, dairy, arable and horticultural sectors) can apply for this grant. Please read the Round 3 handbook to find out more. This scheme is only open to farmers based in England.

Please check your details in the Rural Payments service before you apply for this grant. You must make sure that your details, including contact details and email address, match exactly with those in your application form. If they don’t, we won’t be able to accept your application.

How to apply

To start your application, open the online portal.

Fill in the application form and sign up to the terms and conditions of the scheme.

Check the items availability, to make sure you can get the item within the timescales of the scheme. Do not order or pay deposits of any sort for your items, until you have accepted your Grant Funding Agreement.

We will email you after the round closes to let you know if your application has been approved. When you receive this email, you can purchase your items.

Please do not submit an application unless you intend to purchase the items if you are awarded a grant. This may prevent others from being successful in securing a grant.
